Description
History and nature intertwine in this guided excursion to discover the Park of Portofino.
From the famous village of the Thousand White Sailors of Camogli we will embark on the boat that will take us to Punta Chiappa: a single block of conglomerate that juts out into the sea and that represents an open-air geological “laboratory”.
From here we will walk up along the path, retracing part of the old military road once used for the transport of material.
We will be accompanied by the bright colors and intense scents of the Mediterranean scrub that, in this corner of Liguria, reigns supreme.
Once we reach the Batteries, military posts built during the Second World War to defend the Gulf of Genoa, we will visit together this hidden area of Portofino Park, discovering the history that has strongly marked the territory.
Barracks, anti-aircraft emplacements, lodgings and deposits: we will discover together how everyday life was during the war period. We will continue to the hamlet of San Rocco di Camogli, a magnificent panoramic viewpoint over the Paradise Gulf and the Ligurian arch. From here we will easily descend along an ancient crรชuza (mule track) to Camogli.
