From Rapallo's picturesque castle by the sea, to the historic cable car that connects the centre to the Marian Sanctuary of Montallegro.
From the picturesque castle on the sea of Rapallo, built in a strategic position for the defense of the ancient village against the Turkish-Barbarian pirates, we will reach the departure point of the historic cableway that connects the center to the Marian Sanctuary of Montallegro.
The exciting ascent is unique in Liguria: it is in fact the only cableway over the sea, built in 1934.
Once arrived at the Sanctuary, we will be able to appreciate the splendid panorama of the Tigullio Gulf and the Portofino Promontory.
From here we will visit a strip of the famous monumental ilex grove of the Liguria Region to continue, downhill, along the historic mule track of the seventeenth century, which connects the Sanctuary to the city. Along the way we will be able to appreciate the typical Ligurian vegetation, tradition and legends related to the mule track and the construction of the Sanctuary
